Toben's 1st Gymnastics Class

Toben attended his first gymnastics class this past Friday evening.  It was his first class that was completely Mommy-free; and I was curious to see how he would handle listening to a teacher and interacting with the other kids.  To my delight he was in a fantastic mood that day.  He energetically went to the teacher when she called to the children and listened well.  I took some short clips of his class with my phone so Zach could see later.  Ill share them below.

First they did some stretching.  Next they lined up on a white line and did some warm up activities.  Toben could see me from the white line and I gave him a huge (embarrassing to a normal kid) wave and he energetically waved back. I blew him a kiss and he blew one back and gave me a huge smile.  He  was having a blast!

Toben is the slow crawler in the white T-shirt and green shorts.

Toben is one of the faster kids in this clip.

Below, Toben attempts to hang from the bar and stick his legs out at a 90 degree angel.

Later Toben walks on the beam with a bit of apprehension to the  height.  When the  teacher asked if the beam was too high, he played it cool and said he was okay.  I could tell from his body language that he was scared a bit.

Welp, there you have it, Toben is growing up.  He is able to function in society without me.  So begins the process of me letting go.    :,(

After gymnastics we strolled downtown with my cousin Stephanie who had been visit all week.  Here are two nice shots of the outing.

We spent some time downtown at SPI, which the kids LOVE!  Lots of things to play with at the SPI Spot!(a science based play area geared toward pre-school age kids)
